VVPAT, that is Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit record is basically the system of providing feedback about the votes they have cast to the respective voters. EVM, Electronic Voting Machines are used in order to make the process of casting votes and counting these votes by employing a simple and easy system. This system has been used in elections and is basically comprised of two units that are connected by a cable. 

How to cast your vote by using the system of EVM VVPAT?

 Firstly, as and when you enter the booth, the officer would enable the unit. The second step is to cast your vote. And for the same, you would find a blue button on the ballot unit, and you got to press the button corresponding to the candidate name you prefer to vote. Once you choose, you would find a red light glow corresponding to the candidate’s name you have selected. And finally, you would get to see a ballot slip that would have all the details that include a serial number and candidate name which would be visible for a few seconds and this will be dropped to the audit record box. The controls of these voting machines will be held within the polling officer or the officer in charge. This VVPAT is basically a verification system to ensure that votes are cast according to what the voters have intended. This system mainly is run on a power back battery so that a fluctuation in power or current doesn’t interrupt vote casting.
